Brighton Confirmed As Cup Opponents

Seagulls Overcome Plucky Wrexham On Penalties To Book Toon Tie

The identity of Newcastle's FA Cup 4th round opponents was confirmed as Brighton tonight as they needed extra time and penalties to overcome plucky Conference leaders Wrexham after scores once again finished 1-1.

That means a long treck south for Alan Pardew and his men on Saturday 28th January for a 5:15 kick off. Thankfully for anyone not able to make that long journey the game has been chosen by ESPN to be shown live.

Newcastle will be hoping that former winger Kazenga Lua Lua doesn't come back to haunt them as they look to progress and no doubt will be asking Steve Harper for some tactical tips and advice after he spent a month on loan with Gus Poyet's team earlier in the season.

Fingers crossed that the trip down there is worth it!
